How cool would it be to have a business promoter? I bet there is a huge market out there for these. Someone who knows the online sales market for art and photography.

A person who would:
promote you to shopping blogs
search and find valuable advertising spots
help develop the look of your brand
objectively give feedback on what direction to go with your creations
post on a business blog updates, new products
apply to juried shows for you
create a press kit
update online galleries
write and submit articles to magazines that you have dictated

oh the list could go on and on.

There really is so much to having a business. Hiring a life coach was helpful but not the answer for me right now. I am motivated and driven. I just need objective, experienced advice and help.

Ok universe, I have put it out there:)

I'm not sure that such a person to represent your list exists. If there are such individuals, I'm sure the common item on all their resumes would be "small business owner"...who figured out how to do the best they could to manage these things through trial and error. No one can adequately do those tasks as well as you can - no one can recreate the passion and energy behind what you make better than you. Sure, you can find someone to do the administrative grunt work, but you'll never find someone who can capture/writer about/reflect upon what makes your stuff unique.

The real issue is time, specifically, lack of enough of it to do everything that you wish you could in these areas. And you KNOW that even if you could delegate this stuff, you'd end up spending more time redoing what someone else did on your behalf than if you had just done it yourself in the first place (Things My Wife and I Have In Common # 135).

With a 2 year old who demands your unfocused attention unless you wish to find a gallon of fabric softener poured on the floor, there is only so much time to have. You're doing the best you can. Be patient.

Hi Thea,

This is what I've been dicussing with T (my Partner). Funny, but even though this is what I am looking for, I'm still not ready to completely let go and let someone else into my "space" of creativeness....

Believing in you and all that you do,

Big hugs,
Love Toni

Last year when I was organizing my event I felt exactly like this. I wanted to do all the creating and have someone else do the promoting. I nver found the right person for the job, but I do believe there are people who love to promote. I think as artist we do have a difficult time letting go.

I read this post by Jamie that you might find interesting.

Hmm... I'd love to think someone will come your way, who isn't necessarily what you're describing, but what you need. I can so see where you're coming from and I think there are people who love to do that sort of thing. Keep it open, keep dreaming :) xoxo

Lists are great, most especially when you share them with the world and put out an intention to receive whatever you need to cross items of said list. I imagine you might be receiving help in these areas from unexpected places!!
